Prepare to embark on an adventure where the natural world weaves unforgettable moments into your experience. Did you know that the very word "vacation" finds its origins in the Adirondacks? For over a century, people have flocked to this region during summer, exchanging the stifling city heat for the invigorating mountain air. They would vacate, or in other words, escape the city, giving rise to the term "vacation."

Lake Adventures

On the pristine waters of the lake, a world of possibilities awaits. From leisurely paddling and heart-pounding surfing, wake boarding or water skiing to tranquil fishing and even ice skating in the winter, there's something for everyone. As our guests, you'll have full access to our collection of no-motorized boats. We have 1 canoe, (2) kayaks, and a (2) paddle boards. Boating opportunities on our property are available from May 1st to October 31st, unless water temperatures pose safety concerns. We have an option for rental of a tritoon boat. This pontoon boat is a 22 foot Bennington with a 115 Hp Yamaha and available for weekly rentals.

For those seeking additional non-motorized boat rentals, Racquette River Outfitters, conveniently located at 1754 State Rt 30, just a few miles from our house, can fulfill your needs. If you're in the mood for a small motorized boat, there are nearby options. For larger motorized boats, Saranac Lake Marina provides the option to have a boat delivered and picked up for a round trip fee. The public boat launch is a short distance from our property, and our expansive dock allows for overnight boat docking. We're also pleased to extend our fishing gear for renters to use.

Winter Adventures

As the winter whites begins to cover the Town of Tupper Lake, the Tupper Lake Golf Course transforms into a glorious center for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and fat tire biking. The continuously growing network of trails includes a series of loops that will offer an enjoyable experience for cross country skiers, snowshoers and fat tire bikers of all abilities.

For those seeking downhill skiing, consider visiting Titus Mountain, a comprehensive ski area that offers not only exciting slopes but also ski rentals, dining options, and an unforgettable skiing experience. Titus Mountain is approximately an hour drive from our lodge.

For the more adventurous skiers in your group, don't miss the opportunity to visit Whiteface Mountain, famously known for being the site of the 1980 Winter Olympics. Whiteface Mountain is just an hour away and promises a world-class skiing experience on the slopes where Olympic history was made. Meander into Lake Placid after your ski for a nice dinner or warm drink to finish your day.

For new skiers or those wanting a fun family experience, Mt. Pisgah in Saranac Lake is a short 25-minute drive from our lodge. At Mt. Pisgah, you can take lessons, enjoy snow tubing, and experience the thrill of downhill skiing, although rental facilities are not available on-site.

If the temperature permits and the ice has sufficiently frozen over, feel free to skate on the bay side of the house or ice fish. Be sure to confirm ice thickness before going out on ice.
